Dreams of a Future

I dream of a future where dreams are manifested and lived out in real time

In my future world there are blurred lines around time because thinking and doing overlap.

Thought is action and being is doing 

In a future world we don’t forget the past and we get every bit of joy out of the present moment 

But we use everything we learned and knew and unlearned and remembered to paint a world that is better than what we ever experienced

We love inside the souls of our ancestors in our daily lives and we use everything they told us to fuel our messages for the next day, the next year, the next century 

We don’t forget and we tell the next child and tell her to tell those who come after her 

We line hymns and sing songs because that’s how we remember

We stomp our feet and clap our hands cause that’s how we communicate

We touch with our fingers and toes and smell with our eyes and ears

And we hold things in our hearts and minds 

We remember what our Grandmas and MuhDears and BigMamas made do without and we use their wisdom to solve new problems 

We hear the stories of the Old Man and cousin Joe and we don’t care that they made up some stuff, cause we know they just want to spend time with us and make sure we don’t lose our way 

We know how to make a way out of no way but we don’t have to live without 

In the future we know having resources makes it possible for us to make a way for ourselves and generations to follow 

Having wealth is not sinful when we teach others how to create wealth and share it and pass it on 

We take gratitude into the future and we never forget who we are and where we came from 

We know we are a royal priesthood and the cattle on a thousand hills belong to us 

We claim our inheritance and we live and love large

The future requires us to work together 

To live beyond the familiar and to take risks 

We know we are there to support each other and the risk of failure is erased 

The future guarantees us eternity 

We don’t create more of the same 

We envision ways to improve what we have and we know knowledge is our greatest power and critical thinking our greatest strength

Collective thoughts and creative intellect coupled with compassion for each other will bring us in touch with our God 

We find God at the intersection of love in action 

And we make the next world better when we change systems to make sure everyone has the resources they need to live life with optimal health and well being in peace and filled with joy 

That’s the future I dream of and was born to create
